The UK TV box operates with the , but if you prefer, you can also use a wireless mouse. If you want to use a wireless mouse to operate your system, use a 2.4Ghz (10m) model. Connect the mouse' USB antenna into one of the four USB connectors on the UK TV box. The system will automatically recognise your wireless mouse and the cursor will appear on screen.
In these instructions, we assume that you are using the with your UK TV box.
Use the red On/Standby on the to switch between "On" and "Standby" mode. Remove the power cable from the back, switch off at the wall or remove the plug from the power supply to completely shut down the UK TV box.
Use the arrow buttons on the (located around the "OK" button) to move left/right/up/down

1 x RCA (Red, Yellow, White) Cable
Insert the batteries into the remote control.
Connect the HDMI cable to the UK TV box and your TV
A short ethernet cable is supplied. Connect it to the UK TV box and your internet modem/router.
If your internet modem/router is not located close enough to your TV to enable you to connect using this cable, you have three alternative options :-
Use a longer ethernet cable - the UK TV box is a streaming media device which requires good connectivity to the internet and this is the preferred method.
Use two powerline adapters to connect your UK TV box to your internet modem/router. Powerline adapters use the copper cable infrastructure in your home to connect and send data to and from each other at rates up to 500Mbps. Insert one powerline adapter into a 13amp socket close to your UK TV box and connect it using a short ethernet cable. Insert another powerline adapter into a 13amp power socket close to your internet modem/router and connect it using another short ethernet cable. Usually, establishing a data connection between the two powerline adapters is achieved by pressing a on each adapter which activates a handshake procedure, but refer to the manufacturers' user guide for exact instructions.
Connect your UK TV box to your internet modem/router using its built-in wireless connection but remember, streaming media uses lots of data and relies upon good connectivity between the UK TV box and the source of the internet. Usually, this will be OK if your internet modem/router is situated in the same room but if your internet modem/router is situated in another room, the strength of the wireless connection may not be good enough to constantly stream data.
Connect the power cable to the UK TV box, plug into the mains power supply and switch on.
When you connect the power to your UK TV box, it automatically switches on and enters the boot up procedure which takes approximately one minute.
It's configured to work using an ethernet connection by default so, if you have connected your UK TV box to your internet modem/router by ethernet cable and the system has obtained an IP address and has access to the internet, the boot up process will complete with the loading of the TV application.
If you are using powerline adapters and a link between them has not been established or, if you intend to connect to the internet using the wireless facility, the boot up process will not complete because the UK TV box is not connected to the internet. If this is the case, the boot up process will end with an on notice.
"Error, can't connect to the server" and you will be presented with the options to "Retry" or "Close"
If you are connected to the internet but there is problem with connectivity, the boot up process will end with an on notice
"Your application has not loaded yet" and you will be presented with the option to "Retry" or "Close"
If the boot up procedure ends with either of the on notices (above) select 'Close' - this takes you to the blue home screen.
If the boot up procedure completes with the loading of the TV application, press the 'Home' - this takes you to the blue home screen.
When you power up, the UK TV box's boot up procedure is automatic (right up to the point where the TV options are made available to you). Do not interrupt the boot up procedure by pressing any buttons on the remote control.
The boot up procedure is as follows :-
Initial power up (blue light appears on the front of the set top box) or, when switching on using the red on the during normal operation (red standby light on the front changes to blue).
Static Operating System Logo
Animated Operating System Logo
Whether the boot up procedure completes with the loading of the TV Application or ends with either of the above on notices, before you begin to use your UK TV box, you must configure it to properly display on your TV screen.
The following procedure only needs to be completed once :-

You are presented with a picture which has a white/light grey border. The idea is to shrink/stretch the picture so that the white/light grey border is just visible at the left/right/top/bottom of your screen.
Pressing the "OK" changes the direction from inward to outward movement and vice versa
If outward movement is selected

Highlight and select the upward facing arrow on the on keyboard (the shift key - bottom left hand side) to change between CAPITAL and lower case letters.
The UK TV box is configured by default to connect to the internet using an ethernet cable, but you may wish to configure it to connect to a wireless modem/router using its built-in wireless facility.
NB. Streaming media uses lots of data and relies upon good connectivity between the UK TV box and the source of the internet (your wireless modem/router). Usually, this will be OK if your wireless modem/router is situated in the same room but, if your internet modem/router is situated in another room, the strength of the wireless connection may not be good enough to constantly stream data.
Secondly, if you opt to connect your UK TV box to your wireless modem/router using the built-in wireless facility, when you first switch on each day, the boot up procedure takes longer because the operating system has to detect the wireless connection and complete the handshake procedure with your wireless modem/router. Whilst this is happening, the TV application will attempt to load and if the procedure to connect to your wireless router/modem has not completed, the TV application will return a "Cannot connect to Server" error and present you with the option to "Retry" or "Close" - wait a second or two for the wireless connection procedure to complete before highlighting and selecting "Retry" to finish loading the TV application.
If you have just completed the procedure to configure your TV's Display and you would like to continue by configuring your UK TV box to use the wireless connection facility, you will already be in the "Settings" menu. If you are not :-

the "OK" to change to "ON"
Underneath, a list of wireless devices that are in range of the UK TV box will appear. If nothing appears, no wireless devices are within range. If you still want to use the wireless connection facility, move your internet modem/router within range.
If your wireless modem/router is within range, you will see it in the list of available wireless connections. The wireless signal strength indicator is situated to the right of the name of your wireless connection and gives an indication of the quality of the connection (1, 2, 3, 4 bars)
Use the down arrow on the to highlight and "OK" to select your wireless modem/router/connection.
Entering your password :-

If you have entered your password correctly, you should now see "Obtaining IP Address" then "Connected". If you see anything else, complete the procedure again and make sure that the password that you are entering is absolutely correct.
If you connect the UK TV box to your wireless modem/router using its wireless connection facility and then at a later date, you decide to use an ethernet cable instead, complete the beginning of this procedure again to turn Wi-Fi off (IMPORTANT).
The live TV channels and on Demand Movie and TV programme applications that come pre-configured on your UK TV box do not need or use a VPN connection, but you may wish to use your UK TV box with a VPN server/service to enable you to use catchup TV services such as BBC iPlayer or to watch ITV catchup programmes.
